Passion / Passion Sources LPs
Available 23 July 2017
Peter put together two albums around the music he created for the Martin Scorsese film The Last Temptation of Christ. Passion features music used in the film itself and is Peter’s work whilst Passion Sources represents a selection of some of the traditional music, sources of inspiration and location recordings gathered at that time.
The two albums are very much complimentary works and were two of the initial releases that launched Peter’s record label Real World Records in 1989.
Here the two albums are available together for a special Passion Bundle price.
Passion is a 3LP release, Half-Speed Remastered and cut to lacquers at 45rpm. Passion Sources is a 1LP release, also Half-Speed Remastered but cut to lacquers at 33rpm.
The vinyl for both albums was cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering overseen by Peter’s main sound engineer Richard Chappell.
The Passion LP looks amazing with a gatefold sleeve utilising imagery from the original LP + additional images from the film and also contains printed inner bags. All images are newly re-scanned. Limited edition and numbered. Contains a download card with a choice of digital download (Hi-Res 24bit/96k or 16bit/44.1k).
Passion Sources replicates the original LP release in a single LP sleeve and printed inner bag. The vinyl also contains a download card to redeem 16bit CD quality files.
“It has been heart warming to see the return of vinyl. Even though I loved being free of its limitations in the digital world, there is still a warmth and presence to vinyl that somehow makes it a more natural human companion. It is great to see a new generation learning the secrets of the grooves” – Peter Gabriel
