Live at Selwyn Hall, Box

Released 1 January 1995

Shooglenifty re-invent tradition with a party-full of roots tunes for the dance floor.

The musicians of Shooglenifty come from places rich in musical tradition— the Gaelic West Coast, the Viking-steeped Orkneys – but the musical explosion they create also draws on the urban influences of their Edinburgh base. The result is easy on the ears and infectious on the feet.

Shooglenifty recorded this album on a hot summer night at the Box village hall, just up the road from Real World Studios in rural Wiltshire. With a small recording studio set up in the toilet and the hall full, the band threw a party that could be heard half a mile away.
